Did you ever ask, “where did summer go?” or “how did it get to be winter so soon?” When we don’t pause to appreciate the beauty of the current season we can let life slip by. Seasonably is a way of living. We appreciate each passing year through a cycle of food, color, scent, and experience.
But keep in mind that I’m no Martha, and this isn’t a “look how easy!” site. This site explores the line between realistic (lighting a candle to set the mood) and overly optimistic (lighting homemade candles made with herbs and flowers I grow myself). Recipe outcomes will be documented honestly, and the results of brilliant decorating plans, for better or for worse, will be showcased. Flowers that don’t bloom will be discussed along with the beautiful ones. Because in the end, real life is not a home makeover show where lives are changed in 30 minutes or less. But hopefully we’ll all learn a little something and appreciate the seasons along the way.
Tips, comments, and thoughts on all the topics explored here are welcome.
- Live each season as it passes; breathe the air, drink the drink, taste the fruit, and resign yourself to the influences of each.
